Every parentless child roaming the dangerous streets of Calcutta is desperate for a hero. Young women hopelessly giving their bodies yet again belittled to the lowest point of slavery must be crying out for a hero. Who will answer the call? Who will listen to their voices? Maybe they are emotionally numb with nothing but fear gripping their hearts. Do they pray to God to send someone to their rescue? Or have they given in to hopelessness, living in constant despair?

These young women and children need a hero. They need to be rescued and told there is a savior, that there is hope, that their lives matter.

The answer for the cry for a hero came two thousand years ago when Jesus said yes to the plan of his Father to take on the sin and suffering of every person who would put their hope in him.

Christians all over the world celebrate this Easter weekend the very reason that we can have any hope at all to ever bring change in overcoming the evil in this day.

Isaiah 53:5 brings a message of hope. He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Jesus has paid the price. He is our only hope and he will always be. We can raise money, build homes, and rescue women and children, but if we do not do it the name of Jesus then what is the point. Without eternity with Jesus, no one has hope.

As more and more people become aware of the worldwide epidemic of human slavery, many feel hopeless, that this problem is just way too big to do anything about. Hope is believing that what you desire will come to pass, the expectation that good is coming. It may happen slowly, even one case at a time, but CHANGE IS POSSIBLE!

With such a massive need at hand, it remains crucial that we maintain a mindset of hope in order to bring deliverance to the lives of these young women and children in India . We must believe that our prayers really do move mountains. We must believe that the oppressed and enslaved are always on the heart of Jesus. And we must believe that the Father hears our prayers and desires to act, to bring justice.

By pooling our resources together, continuously praying what is already on the Father’s heart, and keeping hope alive in our own hearts, we believe that we can go forth to set the captives free.

Isaiah 61: 1-3

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.”

Blessings to you in the name of Jesus Christ and Happy Easter!
